The Age of Stupid Indie Screening Encore

Age of Stupid indie screening

On Thursday 22nd October, Digital Eskimo hosted one of the first indie screenings in Australia of “The Age of Stupid”. Due to overwhelming demand from people wanting to see the film, we’ve decided to hold an encore screening on Thursday 29th October which we’d love for you to attend. This new cinema documentary from Director Franny Armstrong (McLibel, Drowned Out) and Oscar-winning Producer John Battsek (One Day in September, In the Shadow of the Moon) stars Pete Postlethwaite as a historian living alone in the devastated world of 2055, watching the ‘archive’ footage from 2008 and asking: “why didn’t we stop climate change when we had the chance?”.

Produced independently, with a ‘crowd-funded’ budget of £450,000, the 89 minute film premiered in the UK and Australia earlier this year, and had its American and global premiere two weeks ago, creating an enormous buzz around the world in the lead-up to Copenhagen. It has now been released via the innovative ‘indie screenings’ model, and does not have a general cinema release. This is a unique chance for you to catch “…the first successful dramatisation of climate change to reach the big screen…’ (The Guardian)

If you’re interested in coming along, please RSVP by midday Tuesday on 27.10.09 via email or on Facebook.
