This came around via email today relating to the documentary ‘The Great Global Warming Swindle’ (for a bit of background, read George Monbiot’s take on the doco at the SMH).
At 8:30pm on 12 July 2007 the ABC will broadcast ‘The Great Global Warming Swindle’, the controversial British documentary that argues global warming is not caused by the rise in carbon dioxide emissions due to human activities, but instead can be explained by a number of natural causes including solar activity. Following the broadcast, a panel of leading scientists and commentators will take part in a studio debate over the claims made in the program.
To be in the audience, you’ll need to be at the ABC studios in Ultimo no later than 7.30 on the Thursday evening of the 12th. You will then be escorted into the studio to watch the LIVE 1 hour broadcast of the documentary ‘The Great Global Warming Swindle’.
Following the screening, there will be a LIVE debate (from 9:30-10:30pm) between leading climate change experts, scientists and academics, hosted by Lateline presenter Tony Jones.
After this debate, which will be broadcast live on ABC TV, the discussion will then expand to a further one hour debate to be broadcast on ABC2. During this time the studio audience will have the opportunity to make comments and ask the questions of the panel.
